4 TIPS ON SLOWING DOWN YOUR SKIN FROM AGING

  1. Avoid UV exposure

Excessive exposure to ultraviolet rays is thought to be a major culprit for rapidly aging skin. It is also important to wear sunblock in the Winter or on days that appear to be cloudy. The UV rays always find a way to your skin.

  1. Stay hydrated

Drinking plenty of water will help prevent your skin from becoming overly dry. All though the amount of water you drink will not be a miracle worker and turn dry skin into a hydrated glow. A good moisturizer is best at instantly improving the look and feel of dry skin, and applying twice a day can help heal serious dehydration. The three key ingredients to look for include is hyaluronic acid.

Our suggestion : use a cream that is more rich in the Winter since heating a cold winds can dry out your skin. In the summer you can get away with a lightweight cream.

 

  1. Eat omega-3 fatty acids

Salmon, tuna, walnuts and flaxseed will help protect your top layer of skin and keep moisture in. Omega-3s also prevent inflammation and help maintain cell structure and function.

 

  1. Avoid processed foods and sugars.

When sugar comes in contact with collagen (a protein of the skin), a reaction called glycation occurs. Glycation can damage collagen, compromise the integrity and regeneration of skin tissue, and accelerate aging of the skin.
