Professional treatments and 20 to 30 minute chemical peels performed in the clinic reinforce your daily skin care program. The treatment, which consists of cosmetic and physical exfoliation, removes dead surface cells and skin debris that blurs skin tone and texture and promotes bacteria build-up and the development of acne.
These treatments activate cell renewal, stimulate collagen production and prepare the skin for the products’ active ingredients, nutrients and antioxidants, leaving skin radiant with vitality and a clear complexion.
Depending on skin type and the severely of the acne our specialist will determine what peel will be better suited for you. Glycolic/Lactic Peels are great for all skin types and ideal for sensitive skin types and are great for mild acne and occasional breakouts. Salicylic Peels are for moderate to severe acne.
A commun treatment plan for acne is to start with an at home acne care kit for four weeks. Once your skin is on a regular skin care routine you will start with your first Salicylic Peels. We suggest a minimum of 6 treatments ever three weeks followed by maintenance treatments every few months. Some skin types will have to start with Glycolic/Lactic peels before having a Salicylic Peel. The combination of an at home skin care routine and an in clinic treatment plan will help reduce and control acne in the future.
AHA stands for alpha hydroxy acids. They are naturally occurring acids used to reduce the signs of aging and improve the appearance of the skin.
